hmm....kotagede:)))

taufiq snap shot of the temple's gate back in january:)



i have my history exam tomorrow but damn, hehehe i feel like writing my own review on kotagede, oh well. i went there 19th january 2001, when in was visiting yogyakarta. i had a little of my film left and i ask taufiq where we can spend the rest of the film. taufiq told me kotagede would be a great place to finish off the film. he did a research there for one of his paper once. so we went there in the afternoon, three of us, me, taufiq and rio.



kotagede itself is famous with silver craft, i didn't really expect there was more than just that. the panembahan senopati temple in the southeast of yogyakarta is a must see. taufiq drop his car near the house of panembahan senopati and we walk to the tomb. in the gate there was a giant pohon beringin, lebih besar dari kebanyakan pohon di kebun raya. kabarnya yang nanem memang panembahan senopati sendiri, so that was 600 years ago.



the architecture of the building is also a mixed of hindu and islamic architectural. after the third gate of temple there lie a mosque with quite amazing architectural features. in front of the mosque ada sebuah tugu kecil, that split kesultanan yogyakarta dan surakarta (solo). there's this picture me and rio with the background of the monument. sayang gak keliatan semua. maybe next time i can have the full lenght of the tugu.



i didn't enter the exact tomb, kebetulan waktu itu memang hari jumat kliwon. sebenarnya diijinin masuk sih. but the guys had to wear beskap and i had to wear kemben. i guess this one is next time too. disitu juga ada pemandian, banyak orang yang mandi disitu. dipisahkan tentunya perempuan dan laki-laki. memang pemandian umum, tapi masih dalam arsitektur waktu jaman mataram:)



this temple is beautiful, sayang, film gue gak cukup. di samping itu gue masih mau ngambil beberapa foto di tamansari (padahal waktu itu kita juga dah kesorean dan gak jadi ke tamansari, sayang juga euy, tau gitu diabisin aja disitu). somehow, if i look at this pictures in kotagede i wanted to learn photography. hmm...i hope i can get my own camera soon. i'm asking taufiq to teach me. anyway...this is my recollection on kotagede. i guess writing this just bring back all the memory. i haven't write anything about it until now, well accept this one, a poem after the journey:



tempat ini seolah mengundang wewangian

yang terpendam mistis

kuno

antik

dan bisu



persilangan dua masa

satu di penghujung akhir

yang lainnya terlahir baru

namun kini satupun tak tersisa



hanya bangunan-bangunan tua

rapuh dan tegar



kubertanya dengan damaikah?
